Company Background
Wholly owned by McWade Productions, Zodiac Engineering has earned a reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across a range of materials and applications. Our capabilities extend from tool and die making to the manufacture of plastic, ferrous, and non-ferrous metal parts—tailored to meet the needs of any industry.
Every aspect of our production process is carried out in-house at our fully equipped facility. With dedicated machining, fabrication, pressing and assembly divisions, we are able to maintain tight control over quality, precision and lead times.
Certification
Zodiac Engineering is a Level 2 Contributor to South Africa’s B-BBEE code of practice.
Our Facilities
Machine Shop
We operate a modern and diverse machine shop that supports both manual and CNC operations:
- Lathes – Including centre, capstan, cam auto, and CNC units
- Milling – Turret and CNC milling machines
- Thread Rolling – Thread sizes from 6mm to 36mm, up to 3 metres in length
- General Machining – Cut, drill, tap, grind and finishing processes
Press Shop
Our press shop handles blanking, piercing, and forming operations with presses ranging from 20 to 130 tons. This allows us to produce high volumes of consistent, reliable components with tight tolerances.
Fabrication Department
We offer full-service fabrication capabilities, including:
- MIG and arc welding
- Press brake bending – 80 ton, up to 3m and 4mm thickness
- Guillotining – Up to 12mm thick and 3m wide
- Metal sawing – 3 horizontal band saws and 1 vertical unit
Assembly Shop
Precision bench assembly of components takes place in our dedicated assembly area, ensuring all parts are correctly fitted and ready for integration into our clients’ systems.
Shareholding
McWade Productions is part of the Royal Electrical Group, along with associate companies Idube Electrical and Trugrid.
McWade Productions also owns another subsidiary manufacturing company – McWade Powerlines.
